Visit of the French Military Attaché
On Thursday, October 27th, 2022, the French Military Attaché for Slovakia, Colonel Jean-Charles Peltier, together with the Press Attaché of the Embassy of the French Republic in Slovakia, Mr. Didier Rogasik, visited the Žilina based 5th Special Forces Regiment. They were welcomed by the Regiment´s commander Lieutenant Colonel Peter Žochòák.
The informal visit of the French attaché was to reinforce the cooperation in the field of language and short-term professional courses, as well as possible joint training and participation in exercises. After the welcome, the commander of the regiment presented the history, focus and further direction of the unit to the foreign guests. After the presentation, the delegation moved to the Memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Special Operations Forces, where, by laying a wreath, they jointly paid tribute to the fallen colleagues.
In the Hall of Honor and Fame, the participants of the advanced French language course, which is currently taking place in the premises of the 5th Special Forces Regiment´s Club, welcomed the visitors. Soldiers‘ languages courses are led by Colonel in reserve Jean-Bernard Colle.
